New Lisa Ono album on sale 3.06.2002 Lisa Ono Best 1997-2001 Toshiba TOCT - 24746A (special first release) Toshiba TOCT - 24746 (regular release) This CD is availlable in two versions. The special first release (TOCT -24746A) features limited edition packaging, as well as two bonus tracks - One Note Samba (Samba de Una Nota So) and March Rain (Agua de Marco) recorded live on Lisa's 2001 Winter Bossa Tour - at Bunkamura Orchard Hall, Tokyo, 12.8 & 10, 2001. These two live songs are absolutely wonderful, and are two of the best songs on this CD. According to Lisa's official site, these live songs will not be on the regular release. Be sure that the version you buy includes these bonus tracks. Lisa covers quite a bit of musical territory on this disc. In addition to straight bossa nova and MPB work with Toninho Horta and Daniel & Paulo Jobim, you'll hear Lisa in transition as she explores some new musical directions, including American standards and Hawaiian music with a bossa nova spin. Included are selections from Essencia (1997 with Toniho Horta), Bossa Carioca (1998 with Paulo and Daniel Jobim), Dream (1999 with Oscar Castro-Neves), Pretty World (2000 with Eumir Deodato) and Bossa Hula Nova (2001 with Mario Adnet). Also included is the previously unreleased tune Pikake. And to wrap up the album, Lisa includes her wonderful live versions of the bossa nova classics One Note Samba (Samba de Una Nota So) and March Rain (Agua de Marco) as bonus tracks.
